Based on the complexity ratings of the given factors, find the weighted complexity by first multiplying the complexity ratings with the counts of the factors and then sum it up to find the total function point count.

Note that if 724805-5-4E-i1.pngfunction points equate one person in the project per month and there are 724805-5-4E-i2.png people on the project, the approximate duration (in months) can be computed using the following formula.

Approximate duration (months) = Total function point count nxm

Note the complexity factors from the Table

Factor Elements Inputs Outputs Enquiries Files Interfaces Complety Lox Average Averzge High High

The following table shows the computation for finding the weighted element count and the total function point count.

Average High Count Low 10X2 20 Elements Inputs Outputs Enquiries Files Interfaces X6 X4 Total = 20 = 120 = 40 = 360 = 750 129

(a)

Note that 5 function points equate one person in the project per month and there are 6 people on the project.

So, the approximate duration = 1290 = 43 months

(b)

If instead 20 people are available,

The approximate duration will be = 1290 5x20 = 12.9 months or 13 months

(c)

If the duration is required to be 6 months,

The number of people required will be = 1290 5x6 = 43 people
