Solution:

Elevation in boiling point can be calculated by using following equation

∆Tb = Kb x (w/M) x (1000/W)

Where,

∆Tb = elevation in boiling point

Kb = elevation constant = 0.512 °C/m

w = weight of solute = 17.1 g

M= molar mass of solute = 342 g/mol

W= weight of solvent = 100g

∆Tb = 0.512 °C/m x (17.1 g/342 g/mol) x (1000/100g)

∆Tb = 0.256 °C
