A 95% confidence level has significance level of 0.05 and critical value is, af2-1.96

The margin of error ( E ) is,

a) (5.8)2 199-= 1.3062 / (3.4)2 1.96 * + = n2

The 95% confidence interval is,

(\bar x_1- \bar x_2 ) - E < \mu_1-\mu_2 < (\bar x_1- \bar x_2 ) + E

(24.2-25.5)-1.3062 < μι-H2 < (24.2-25.5) + 1.3062

(-1,3) _ 1.3062 < μι-H2 < (-1.3) + 1.3062

2.6062 < μι-N2 < 0.0062

Therefore, the 95% confidence interval for \mu_1-\mu_2 is from -2.6062 to 0.0062 , with the margin of error 1.3062
