Call emergency number immediately to make sure emergency services are on their way

Clear employees from the site of the accident

Administer first aid to injured workers

Call the police incase of a death or critical injury

Eliminate and control sources of imminent danger to prevent further disturbances

Prevent unnecessary machinery/equipment damage

Report about the accident to higher authorities in the organization

Talk to other employees and ensure that everything is under control; to prevent them from panick and unnecessary anxiety

Help the police in securing the scene and gathering evidence

Render emotional support to workers when they are being interviewed by authorities about the accident

Investigate and find out the root cause

Create a final report about the catastrophe

Make recommendations and suggestions to the management that could be adopted to avoid such situations in the future

Raise awareness about such workplace disasters among the workers

See that workers are trained as to how to react quick when such a disaster happens the next time

Follow up to monitor safe environment and safety of workers
