Four (4) assumptions behind the RIMS Strategy.

  1. Moral dissensus is given

2. Moral dissensus does not equal ethical relativism

3. Dialogue can produce solutions. Only moral arguments can be included in dialogue

Three (3) steps of the RIMS Strategy.

  • Generate and evaluate all points of view

All factually correct point of views which are clear to all and moral arguments(not selfish) should be considered

  • Identify implications

Focus should be on positive and negative implications and not on motives behind points of view

  • Find solutions

Cooperate in finding solutions with positive implications and keeping negative implications to the minimum
