Those type of streams which are fed by the underground water are called as effluent streams, are those streams are also perennial (flows throughout the year). Streams those are rainfall controlled are called ephemeral streams.

Streams those are groundwater controlled does not depends on rainfall, topography etc because those are controlled by GW. We have a good groundwater potential (groundwater potential is decreasing now). It has that much capacity that it can sustain streams even during drought because of their water capacity is more.

If we will see the freshwater distribution of the world groundwater comes at the second-largest reservoir after the polar ice. So due to their high water content, it can sustain the streams even during the drought situation.
