Chinoiserie is a western style of interior design, furniture, pottery, textile and garden design developed in 17th and 18th century. It represents fanciful European interpretations of Chinese styles. Chinoiserie, used mainly in conjunction with Baroque and Rococo styles; blue and white color is mainly used in asymmetrical form. It gradually waned during 19th century.

Baroque art is example of Europeans developed a taste for by 1715. It is a style of architecture, music, dance, painting and sculpture and other arts. It is characterized by exaggerated motion and clear detail used to produce arts. It appeals above all to the senses and emotions.

Elements of painting are different types of lines, shapes, form, space, value and contrast, color and texture. Principles of painting are balance, emphasize, movement, pattern, repetition, proportion, rhythm, variety and unity. It is used by painter to create an effect and to help convey the painter’s intent. Paintings convey the internal feelings and thoughts of the painter to the audience.
