In today's technological world, companies have introduced many gadgets that can do much more than just showing time. This leads to the formation of the idea of watches being an unnecessary item for consumers. Because of this, gradually the watch industry has been struggling for quite a couple of years in the competitive market to convince the consumers for purchase.

During the time of death of the watches, Apple introduced its own watch and entered into the game. The ranges of the watch start from $350 to $10,000. And the premium version of the watch comes at the price of $17,000. The watch has features such as the ability to surf the internet, heart rate monitor, check as well as send messages, etc. But still, the gadget didn't convince many consumers especially the diehard watch fans as Apple watch is pretty much costly. Due to its cost, the consumers are thinking twice to buy its base version, let alone the premium one. Consumers also complain that the watch has a small screen which makes it difficult for them to do any activity. So, in my opinion, yes the death of the watch been greatly exaggerated but it is still uncertain whether the Apple watch can successfully motivate the consumers to invest in it.

Hope this helps :)
