A connection between two devices that acts as though it's a direct connection even though it may physically be circuitous. The term is used most frequently to describe connections between two hosts in a packet-switching network. In this case, the two hosts can communicate as though they have a dedicated connection even though the packets might actually travel very different routes before arriving at their destination.

Frame relay is a packet-switching telecommunication service designed for cost-efficient data transmission for intermittent traffic between local area networks (LANs) and between endpoints in wide area networks (WANs). Wireless Communication is a method of transmitting information from one point to other, without using any connection like wires, cables or any physical medium. Generally, in a communication system, information is transmitted from transmitter to receiver that are placed over a limited distance.

Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is an adaptable technology that can be used in LANs and WANs (Wide-Area Networks). ATM is based on the efforts of the ITU-T Broadcast Integrated Services Digital Network (BISDN) standard. ATM uses both switching and multiplexing, and it can provide very high bandwidth with few delays.
