The end of the Roman Empire around 476 is often seen as one of the most important events in human history. Do you agree with this idea? Why or why not?
The most notable achievement during Roman Empire is the commerce and trade. The empire established its trade routes to almost all corners of the world.
The miles of roads they were maintaining all fell into disrepair. Due to the absence of the roman navy vessels the trade and travel became dangerous due to invasions.
The fall of ROman empire also lead to the loss of common currency which led to bartering ways.
Another problem is where people fled their cities due to subsequent attacks by barbarians and buildings and monuments fell into disrepair. The population in the West shifted to rural areas.
Rome, which was knowledge capital of the world then lost its shine and scholars with means moved on to various places and people forgot how to read and write over generations due to lack of schools. This leads to people speak in local vernacular which led to the division of people further culturally.
These caused the entire human civilization to set back in its development by centuries by eventually leading into what we now refer to as Dark ages.

It could be argued that by around 600 the Christian Church was the most Roman thing that survived in what had been the West Roman Empire. First, what were the particularly Roman elements of the Catholic Church? Second, how had Christian institutions helped preserve aspects of Roman culture into the early Middle Ages? And third, what is the history of Christian conversion in the “barbarian” kingdoms between the 5thand 7thcenturies?

Project yourself into the past: If you were a practicing Catholic during the time of the Protestant Reformation, how would you have viewed Martin Luther? As a heretic or a hero? Defend your position using the knowledge you have gained about this time period.
4. One of the most important things in science, not often done, is effectively commu- nicating on a subject. Since you all have spent so much time on partition functions, this is a good idea. Explain the purpose of a partition function in a way that a general chemistry student would understand. Then, discuss what the translation, vibration, and rotation are in terms of what is happening to a molecule. Finally, say why they are important for a partition function.

One of the most commonly seen disclaimers in money management and financial planning is “past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.” Or something like that! As a naive planner, I used to shrug this statement off and often wonder how else we were supposed to forecast! But now in reality, after years of seeing this take shape, this statement is really representativeness and the extrapolation bias, and I see it all the time in practice. Here’s a twist-what...
1. Identify the problem with this statement: PCR-based systems often yield results for a tiny sample of relatively poor-quality DNA? 2. Name one type of cell in the human body from which you could NOT extract chromosomal DNA and explain why. 3. The final result in RFLP analysis looks like a simplified supermarket bar code. The latter is absolutely unique. Is the RFLP pattern unique? 4. The final result in the PM + DQA1 test is seen as blue dots...
