Are we moving quickly enough on gender equality and what impact does it have for you personally?

In today’s world, gender equality is being given a lot importance and good news is that world is considering women's contribution in almost every field. Although the growth of equal opportunities for women in various fields and various countries is uneven but steady.

Now women are showing their presence from low responsibility to high responsibility tasks like being CEO of big companies, being in powerful position in politics, science & technology. They are winning Oscars in film & entertainment industry.

Women are coming forward to make new society where there contribution is now very significant. Even many developing countries like in south Asia, in Africa women are being given more opportunities based on their qualifications. Many governments have made special provisions for women involvement in parliaments and in other important government as well as private organisations. Women are nowadays being given equal wages for their work. In India, there is certain reservation for females for various government posts. Even in elections, Indian government gives reservation to women. However, the pace of growth in gender equality is not fast enough. Although modern world is in correct direction regarding equal rights for women but still there is a lot to be done in this field. Even in Saudi Arabia, women have been given more rights like licence to drive and many other rights, which can grow their contribution to the world. But in Pakistan, Afghanistan and in many Islamic nations the situation of women is still poor. In many countries women are victim of domestic violence, they do not have proper health facilities, lack of basic primary education. There is still discrimination regarding wages in under developed and developing countries.

Personally, I believe that world is going on right path in terms of gender equality and women empowerment. The pace of this empowerment is slow but it is continuous and increasing. One day we will have a world where there will be 100% equality for women in all over the world in terms of everything like education, wages, rights, opportunities etc.
