Which of the following ions should have the smallest ionic radius?
A) Sc 3+
B) Ca 2+
C) K+
D) Ar +
E) Cl -

more positive charge will gets lowest ionic size so sc3+ gets smallest than ar+
so first smallest is sc3+(18 electrons ) and then next is Ar+ (17 electrons)
Which of the following ions should have the smallest ionic radius? A) Sc 3+ B) Ca...
Electron radii problem. I thought that P(-3) would have the
smallest radius because it is the same as MG, but the answer key
says CA 2+ is the smallest. Can anyone explain this?
thanks.
