rms is the measure of the speed of particles in a gas that is most convenient for problem solving within the kinetic theory of gases. It is defined as the square root of the average velocity-squared of the molecules in a gas. It is given by the formula \(^{[1]}\)

\(v_{\mathrm{rms}}=\sqrt{\frac{3 R T}{M_{m}}}=>\mathrm{rms}\) speed of \(\mathrm{CO}_{2}<\mathrm{O}_{2}<\mathrm{N}_{2}\) since the molecular weight of different gases is varying
