Answer #1

An Atom with 5 regions of electron density has a basic geometry of trigonal bipyramidal(with 5 bond pairs).

In case of 1 lone pair and 4 bond pairs in 4 regions of electron density has the geometry see-saw.

For 2 lone pairs and 3 bond pairs has a T-shaped geometry.

For 3 lone pairs and 2 bond pairs has a linear geometry.

So it has 4 molecular geometries.

X Х E - X Mini E- * 1 1 X Х X Х X Х Trigonal bipyramidal Seesaw : ettlig X Х : E- X Х * T-shape Linear

Hope this helps! Cheers!
