As we know The pilgrims and puritans belonged to protestants . Their belief was that a reform was required in CHurch of England . They were Calvinists in nature . Pilgrims we can say wanted to get seperated from the church. On the other hand Puritans wanted reformed within the church. Both groups were firm believers of sin and literal interpretation .Pilgrims wanted a swift action to reform the church and we're almost ready to get separated from the church . Their main goal was to develop a new commonwealth utopia. They were more focused on individual righteousness . On the other hand Puritans refused on purity of the doctrine .They were known as non separating. They considered themselves as English despite sharing common Calivnists beliefs with Pilgrims .They called their colony as City on a hill. They gave importance to community and were not a supporter of individuality . They propagate biblical righteousness of the Church .
