In the first spectrum the broad peak is due to the carboxylic moiety.

In the second spectra there may not present free COOH group.

Similarities are both have ester CO and carboxyl CO str frequency at 1650-1760 cm^-1. Around 1750 cm^-1 peak is for ester CO and 1650 is for acid CO . Both contain aromatic ring.
