Considering the outcome bases ethics or Utilitarianism, it focuses on the consequences of an action rather on the nature of the action or any pre-established moral values. Based on the utilitarian model of ethics, an action is morally right when among different individuals it affects, it produces the increased amount of good for the wider population. When an action influences the bigger part of the stakeholder population it is morally wrong. Therefore, it is important to find which stakeholders will be affected by the action taken and a cost benefit analysis to assess negative and positive effects of the alternative actions implied on the stakeholders. Corporate social responsibility focus (i.e. stakeholder view) on the shareholders and also on the stakeholders affected by the corporate decisions. It is because in some cases some of the stakeholders have a greater stake in the company decisions as compared to the others. It is considered to be the trade-off. For example, company decides to reduce the cost by downsizing and organizational restricting. This may benefit the shareholders but employees will be laid off.
