RESTING MEMBRANE POTENTIAL;

It is the voltage or charge difference across the cell membrane when the cell is at rest. It is the product of distribution of charged particles.

ACTION POTENTIAL ;

These are generated by special type of voltage gated ion channels embedded in cells plasma membrane and produproduces greater charge.

potassium and sodium gated channels opens and closes up as the action potential developed.
