The study design was experimental observation design. Thus it was quasi longitudinal. In the writer's opinion this study design was appropriate for the experiment and the nature of experiment.
The findings couldn't be generalised to the entire population. This was because the sample only consisted of American males. Therefore though the findings give us a lot of information about authority and obedience it fails to tell us how it would differ across gender and ethnic backgrounds.
What could have been done differently is that one more ethnic backgrounds and females could also have been included in the study. Along with this the could have been conducted at multiple places and uniformity could have been maintained.
