Can someone explain how to determine which is more stable in simple layman terms because I don't understand which is more stable just by looking.

I understand how it is supposed to look in a 3d format, I understand bond angles and strains but I must not fully understand if I cant look at these two and know which is more stable. Thanks in advance!
