Na2Cr2O7, H2SO4, H2O , Are called Jones reagents, and these are used for oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols, primary alcohol are converted into aldehyde (as in reaction a)

And , secondary alcohols are oxidized to ketones (as in reaction 2.)

PCC is also a reagents which is used in catalytic amount for oxidation of alcohols to corresponding carbonyl compunds.
