Procedure:
Re-Write this procedure in 3rd person past tense.
1. Fill the burette with sodium hydroxide solution.
2. Using the pipette, measure 10 mL of an unknown acid solution into a clean, dry flask. Add 2-3 drops of phenolphthalein and swirl gently.
3. Place the flask on the retort base on a white paper.
4. Record the pH of the acid using an electronic pH probe before titration begins.
5. Titrate the acid solution with sodium hydroxide solution until the endpoint is reached. Record volume readings of titrant. *See reference sheet for detailed instructions.*
6. Using a pH probe, measure the pH after 5mL of base has been added.
7. Repeat steps2-3 until you have three consistent results within 0.5 mL of each other. See your raw data tables (separate file) for average raw data.
8. Using a pH meter, measure the pH of the solution in the Erlenmeyer flask once the end point is reached.
9. Using a pH meter, measure the pH of the solution in the flask after 2 mL of base has been added beyond equivalence.
10. Dispose of all solutions as directed by your teacher. Return equipment and materials to their proper location after they have been rinsed well.

Rewrite the text in past tense Use only third person, passive voice, e.g.: “Thirty grams of naphthalene was added 50 mL of m-xylene in a 250 mL round bottomed flask.” Experimental Procedure 1. Set up apparatus as shown to the right. 2. Add 8 ml of cyclohexanol and 4 ml of glacial acetic acid in a 250 ml round bottom flask and swirl with whole apparatus Caution: Glacial acetic acid can cause severe burns to the eyes and skin 3....
Procedure 1. Arrange the burette and other equipment as shown in Figure 1. Use a 250-ml Erlenmeyer flask for the titration 2. Fill the burette with NaOH solution using a funnel. (Wear goggles and gloves!) Record the concentration (molarity) of the base in the Data Table on the Worksheet. 3. Measure out 100 mL of flat Mountain Dew in a graduated cylinder and transfer it to the 250-ml Erlenmeyer flask. (If you will be using a magnetic stirrer, place a...
10.00 mL Nitric acid was titrated with NaOH of 0.100 molarity until the equivalence was reached. 15.2 mL of NaOH were required. Find: A) Concentration of nitric acid before titration B) pH of solution before titration C) pH of solution after 15.1 mL of sodium hydroxide is added D) pH of solution after 15.3 mL of sodium hydroxide is added
Rewrite the text in past tense Use only third person, passive voice, e.g.: “Thirty grams of naphthalene was added 50 mL of m-xylene in a 250 mL round bottomed flask.” Experimental Procedure 1. Set up a simple distillation apparatus. 2. Add 16 g (16.7 mL) of cyclohexanol and 4 mL of concentrated sulfuric acid to the round bottom flask. Caution: Sulfuric acid is highly corrosive. Use caution and appropriate personal protective equipment! 3. Mix contents thoroughly and connect to distillation...

rewrite text in past tense Procedure-Simple Distillation 1. Take 60 ml of a 50:50 mixture of cyclohexane and toluene and place in a round bottom flask. Make sure you add a few boiling chips. 2. Assemble the distillation apparatus (See Figure 2.) and start the water flowing through the condenser. Place a graduated cylinder under the bent adapter so that you can measure the volume of distillate you collect. 3. Begin heating the sample with a heating mantle until it...
