Molarity is the number of moles of solute present in one litre of solution and is denoted by M

M = Number of moles of solute *1000/ Volume of solution in mL

Number of moles = M * Volume of solution in mL/1000

Given that 57.0 mL of 0.734 M CaCl​​​2 solution.

Number of moles of CaCl​​​2 in 57.0 mL of 0.734 M CaCl​​​2 solution are

= 57.0 mL * 0.734 M/1000

= 0.04184 moles.

We know that

One mole of CaCl​​​2 gives one mole calcium ions and 2 moles of chloride ions.

Number of moles of Calcium ions (Ca​​​​​2+) = 0.04184 moles = 0.0418 moles

Number of moles of Chloride ions (Cl​​​​​-)

= 2*0.0418 moles

= 0.0836 moles

= 0.0836 moles
