1.Select a future technology. Predict the social, environmental, ethical, and energy use implications of the implementation and wide scale use of that technology.
A good example of a future technology is Machine Learning. Most of the companies are working today to develop the technology so that it can be applied in the future and create a better world to live for the people. The social implications of this technology would be that it will be very expensive to afford in the initial stages. The technology is very expensive to use it on a wide scale so all the sections of the society will not get the chance to make use of the technology. Even some of the countries will not be able to develop the technology and use it without spending much on it. The environmental effects will be good because the technology can be used to solve the environmental problems. The technology can teach machines to take measures that reduce the waste created and become environmentally friendly. It can be used in the waste treatment and also in creating technologies that can recycle the waste efficiently. The ethical implications can be negative because the technology mainly deals with the data and it might affect the privacy of the people in the future. So the large-scale application and use might not happen without objections in the society. The companies and governments will have the regulate the use of technology in the future to make it more ethical and safe for the people. The energy use is not concerned with this technology because the development does not require any energy and the application will also depend on the software and hardware. The electricity consumption will be similar to that of other technologies even when it is used on a large scale.
