Answer #1

Throughput time of the product is the time required for processing i.e.time required to pass through a manufacturing process and thereby convert a raw material into final product.

The formula to calculate throughput time is adding the time of the steps of the manufacturing process i.e. process time, inspection time, move time and wait time. It can be said that the time spent at each station. In the above question throughput time can be calculated be adding the process time of each station i.e. 5+9+4+9+8=35

Bottleneck literally means constraint, and in a supply chain bottleneck means a resource that requires the longest time in operations of the supply chain for certain demand. Bottleneck can be defined as one process in the chain of process that its limited capacity reduces the capacity of whole chain.
