Answer #1

Answer:- As the bullet penetrated the patient's thoracic cavity and he is suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, this leads to traumatic pneumothorax where air can move freely in and out between the pleural space and the atmosphere through the wound. Thus, pressure on the affected side equalizes with the atmosphere, and the lung collapses rapidly as it fails to expand. Therefore, the lung collapsed when the bullet penetrated the patient's thoracic cavity.
