SDRAM operates synchronously with computer's clock. SDRAM sends instructions and join them into pipeline of instructions which CPU is processing. This provides more efficiency as pipelining of information enables receiving another instruction even before it has executed the previous instruction. This way SDRAM operates at very high speed compared to DRAM which operates asynchronously.
