SDRAM operates synchronously with computer's clock. SDRAM sends instructions and join them into pipeline of instructions which CPU is processing. This provides more efficiency as pipelining of information enables receiving another instruction even before it has executed the previous instruction. This way SDRAM operates at very high speed compared to DRAM which operates asynchronously.

SIMM uses 32-bit bus whereas DIMM uses 64 bit bus which means DIMM can sends more data. That's why SIMM is slower than DIMM
