The Starch technique is a duplicate test that gauges a reader’s acknowledgment of print promoting. It estimates whether the reader (I) has seen the advertisement, (ii) has seen the name of the item or organization the advertisement supports, and (iii) has understood half or a greater amount of the composed material. These three estimations speak to the components of the Starch test.

To direct a Starch test, evaluators start by talking a many readers whose qualifications coordinate those of the distribution's intended interest groups. Each reader is inquired as to whether they have as of late read a specific distribution. Those who report having done so are then approached to experience the distribution, page-by-page, to decide the amount they have seen and perused o every notice in the issue. The questioner at that point tests the interviewee for insights regarding the specified advertisement.
