Answer #1

PART A;

CO2 is composed of both nonmetal, C and O, they will form covalent bond, which will be nonpolar, therefore, MOLECULAR.

PART B:

NiCl2 contians a metal, Nickel, and nonmetal Chlorine; therefore, electronewgativity difference will make Nickel donate electrons, this is ionic bonding, since Ni+2 and Cl- forms, anion/cations.

PART C:

NaI --> Na+ and I- are cations; therefore ionic (cation/anions)

PART D:

PCl3 has nonmetals, P and Cl, once again, MOLECULAR

PART E:

CF2Cl2 = only nonmetals, therefore, molecular,

CCl4; nonmetals, therefore molecular;

PtO2; metal + nonmetal = ionic;

SO3 = nonmetal + nonmetal = molecular;

Pb(NO3)2 = metal + nonmetals = ionic;
