Three main categories of patterns according to Gang of Four or GOF are
- Behavioral,
- Creational, and
- Structural
Loosely coupled classes are those classes which do not have dependencies on other classes for there working. Each class is designed to exhibit single responsibility and separation of concern. These classes can be consumed and tested individually, thus can be reused and modifiable easily. So loosely coupled classes are better.
