unn MWSG Network Consulting Congratulations!!! You have just been hired on as a Network Specialist by MWSG For the last year Sunnyhill Golf has been converting one of their larger outbuildings centre and the work is almost complete. You are the new tech working on the network. Almost all the wiring is complete and you have been assigned to configure the Cisco 2504 WILC. Network Consulting into a conference 1. You are connected to the console of the WLC but you have no idea what the previous tech set the administrative credentials to, so you decide to go back to the factory defaults? How do you do this? You realize that the LAPs will need IP addresses assigned to them. Where is the best place for these addresses to come from? 2. You complete the configuration and setup of the WLC and assign it with the new SSID the owner has asked you to use - it's different from the SSID used by the WLAN in the rest of the Golf and Country Club and because you decided not to broadcast the SSID, only you and the owner know the new SSID name. You go out into the conference centre and notice that almost all of the LAPs have a solid green LED. Two of them, however, have a blue LED. What does this tell you? 3. 4. Just as you decide to configure the WLC to broadcast the new SSID, a number of staff from the Golf and Country club decide to visit the new conference centre to see how the work is going. As soon as they enter you see that some of the LAP LEDs are showing blue instead of green. What is happening (be specific)? You decide to connect to the web interface and look at the monitor screen. You notice that a number of devices are displayed as being "rogue". Should you be concerned? 5.

There are two ways to make it factory default: a. through CLI b. through GUI

        a. Through CLI:

            i. Login to WLC with legal username and password.

ii. Reset WLC using “reset system” at command prompt.

iii. It will ask whether to save change to the configuration (Y/N)? The controller will reboot.

iv. When it will ask for username enter “recover-config”

v. It will recover to the factory default setting.

     

        b. Through GUI:

            i.Login to WLC GUI with username and password.

ii. Go to command and reset to factory default.

iii. Now click reset.

Step 1 :Open the Command Prompt

Press  Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time, you can see a small window as below pop up, then enter “cmd” into the field. Press enter to open the command prompt.

Run Type the name of a program, folder, document, or Internet resource, and Windows will open it for you. Open: cmd This task will be created with administrative privileges. OK Cancel Browse...

   

Step2 : Type “ipconfig” and press enter

This will display a list of your network connection information. Near the top of the list, look for “IPv4 Address” under either Wireless Network

Connection or Local Area Connection (depending on if your computer is using Wi-Fi or not).

Without using command prompt:

Step 1

Click Start ->Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center.

Setp 2

In the task list, please click Change adapter settings. Highlight and right click the Local Area Connection icon; click on Status and go to Details. The IP address will display.
