Explain organizational learning. What is the Kolb model for individual learning? Why is reflection important in the learning process?

Organizational learning refers to the process of creating, retaining, and transferring knowledge within an organization. For example, a manufacturing company producing crankshafts for a particular model of vehicle in a benchmark time over a certain period. One can relate organizational curve to same as learning curve. In simple terms, the more it experiences, the more it learns. Kolb model was developed by David Kolb in the year 1984. This model states that there 4 stages in learning. He stated that learning can take place in 4 ways namely, experience, reflection, conceptualization, testing. Experience Test Reflection Conceptualise Experience: To learn by experiencing. This can be done by role playing and by games etc. learning takes place by discussions and feedbacks. Reflection: To learn by listening/observing others in the surroundings. For example, class lectures. Conceptualization: To learn by making deductions. Finding logics behind things to understand the reasons.
