We can reduce this cost by doing cost analysis or by taking the individual part, if we are doing mass production.
Let's take the example of bearings in this case. The bearing price constitutes the highest price percentage in the motor and it is also the heart of the motor. Usually if we take 8mm bearing (OD) with 3mm(ID), there are many factors that decides the cost of bearing like lubrication factor, bearing material, etc.
So based on the application, if we do the value engineering in the best possible way, we can select the low cost bearing without affecting the process efficiency by analyzing all the parameters.
