Yes, attributes are allowed to contain a NULL value in the SQL database.

The attribute which is a primary key or a group of attribute which form a primary key is not allowed to contain a NULL value.

The foreign key can contain NULL value and duplicate value.

NULL Values:

NULL values are the unknown value or the value which has no result in the SQL database and these values are not equal to itself.

We can't apply any relational operator with the NULL value.

NULL == NULL no
NULL <> NULL no
NULL < NULL no
NULL > NULL no
IS NULL yes
IS NOT NULL yes
