response.The Dual-Store Model of Memory consists of three components; the sensory register, working memory, and long-term memory. The sensory register is one of the components of the Dual-Store Model of Memory where information is received and grasped long enough for cognitive processing to begin. The capacity is very large in the sensory registry. Here, information is stored in the same form in which it has been inputted, although it remains for onlya brief amount of time (Ormrod, 2012).
Active thinking happens within another component previously mentioned which is the working memory, also known as “short-term memory”. This is where cognitive processing takes place; information is indentified, saved, and processed. The working memory includes two subcomponents. One of which is the central executive which keeps order within the memory .
