Briefly describe how nominal generator power factor (GPF) affects the power transfer capability
Power factor is nothing but proportional ratio between real power(kW) and apparent power.
Power factor (P.F)=Real power/Apparent power
There are two types of power factors.
One is lagging power factor and other is leading power factor.
Generally generators are rated in kVA at 0.8 power factor lagging which is nominal power factor helps to calculate
the kW output of an engine to supply the power for a particular alternate kVA output.
For example
Alternater output is 300kVA
Then engine power output=300kVA×0.8=240kW
Relation between Lagging power factor&Engine (kW)
If P.F is >0.8. our is engine is not capable of having sufficient kW power to the alternator to scent(100%) kVA rating....
If P.F is <0.8 engine having required kW to power the alternator in excess of its 100% of its kVA rating...
Like the above depending upon power factor power transferring capability varies.....

20. Briefly describe the significance of the invention of the transistor and microprocessor to the advancement of nuclear medicine. If the next generation of nuclear medicine incorporates "nanoprocessors" and has unlimited storage capability in cloud systems) what do you imagine this would be like? 21. What is meant by the "oxygen enhancement ratio" as a factor that affects the radio sensitivity of tissues or cells to ionizing radiation? What do the terms "radiosensitizer" and "radioprotector" mean with respect to the...

In a synchronous generator, at 0.8 lagging power factor, an excitation voltage per phase of 240 V gives a rated terminal voltage V. If the power factor of load increases to unity, the excitation voltage per phase required to produce a terminal voltage of V must be a. 260 V b. 250 V c. 240 V d. 225 V
3 phase generator (80MVA, 86.5kV) with reactance 20ohm/phase, at 0.8 lagging power factor. If generated emf is 40kV per phase, what is the maximum 3 phase power generated before falling out of synchronism?
A 5.5 MW variable-speed wind generator with 0.92 power factor is providing power to a grid through a three-phase six pulse bridge converter, a DC link capacitor of 2.2 F, and an inverter. To maintain 60-Hz grid frequency, the required energy storage capacity of the DC link is 1.2 MJ. If the firing-angle of the converter is 45 degrees, calculate the input line current of the converter.
