B saturated ammonium chloride
what is the evidence for a shift in equilibrium?
Saturated NH4Cl is:
NH4Cl(s) <=> NH3(aq) + HCl(aq)
Where In saturated solution, maximum amount of solute is dissolved in minimum amount of solvent.
Now, By Le chateleir's Principle,If a reaction at equilibrium is subjected to a change in any of the reaction condition like pressure, concentration etc then reaction will shift in a direction to undo the effect of change
Thus, if we add HCl or NH3 to it then concentration of HCl or NH3 in solution increases and hence reaction will shift to the left. Thus more precipitation of NH4Cl takes place.
But if reaction shift to right then equilibrium , then formation of NH3 takes place.
