Here the package was dropped from the helicopter at a height of 126 m above the ground.

Dropped means from rest so the initial velocity v0 is zero

From equations of motion

S=u*t+0.5*a*t^2

Here u=0 m/s

S=126 m

a=g ,. Acceleration due to gravity

Substituting the values

126 = 0*t+0.5*9.8*t^2

t=5.071 s

So time taken by the package to reach ground is t= 5.071s
