The current that is created in the coil is a form of energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, in agreement with the Law of Conservation of Energy. Where is the energy coming from that is creating the current?

Energy is coming from chemical energy of battery. In battery chemicals are stored when they react they produce energy which converts into electric energy & produce current in coil.
