Did the great hunger in Ireland rise to the level of genocide? Explain your reasoning. If it does not constitude genocide, how would you characterize it under international law?

The great hunger of Ireland did fall under the level of genocide. This is because It is a deliberate act of the British Government in delaying the export of livestock and food crops. It is important to mention that Britain followed a policy that is based on ethnicity and race and it targetted the Irish people.

It is a fact that the act of British government is considered as an act of mass starvation and according to the Hague convention of 1948, the act is a genocide.
