Ventral body cavities such as thoracic and abdominopelvic cavity are lined with serous memranes. These membrane secretes serous fluid to lubricate the organs and reduce friction.
Dorsal body cavities (cranial and vertebral cavity) do not contain any serous membrane. Organs in both cranial and vertebral cavities are protected by bones (skull and vertebral column).
Hence, dorsal body cavity does not have any serous fluid at all.
