In the attribution of cyber attacks, there are some major
challenges or we can say obstacles to get hackers. Here we can
define these in two categories from the perspective of an attacker
and information security experts.
In cyber attribution mainly a forensic report of evidence is made
on the basis of historical data and establishing intent and some
more. So, one of the challenges is a hacker can spoof IP address or
use of proxy servers prevents itself from what is its location.
Proxy servers bounce IP and confuse attempts at cyber
attribution.
The other one is jurisdictional limitations between countries,
states, and regions. While talking about the cross-border
investigation, their law enforcement agencies take over the case
that affects the integrity of evidence. Most of the times attack
generating countries refuse to help the security agencies.
