In the complex, Na2[Mo2(CO)10] the CO group is a neutral ligand with 0 charge.

If 'x' is the oxidation state of Mo then we have for the complex ion: [Mo2(CO)10]^2-

2x + 10(0) = -2

or x = -1

Thus, the oxidation state of Mo = -1

The valence electron configuration of Mo = 4d55s1

For Mo in -1 oxidation state the electron configuration = 4d55s2

The Mo-Mo interaction is through d-orbital overlap
