Answer #1

Solution -

Cell manufacturing provides the advantages of volume and standardization through usage of multiple cell in an assembly line type of layout for particular components of a product. The advantage of volume and standardization is much higher than that of Workcenter which is also referred to as job shop. Here specialised customer products are made with usually one at a time rather than in cell manufacturing where components are made in groups.

The other production types such as continuous process, batch assembly and assembly line all would have more advantage in terms of standardization and volumes over cell manufacturing.
