I am running a WAMP server on my local machine
When I run my code from my WAMP server everything runs fine, but when I upload my code to the school's server I run into a problem:
the if(isset($_POST['submit']){
//run code
}
else{
echo "uh oh something went wrong";
}
the else portion is being ran. any ideas what can be wrong? i know these are very vague since i am not providing the actual code

ANSWER :-

The problem could be this:-
=>Name the submit button (<input type="submit" name="submit" ... />)
Maybe you forgot to give your submit <input> a name, so it is not available using $_POST['submit'] -
<p><input type="submit" value="Submit" name="submit" /></p>
=>Remember that keys in the $_POST superglobal only appear for named input elements. So, unless the element has the name attribute, it won't come through to $_POST (or $_GET/$_REQUEST)
What you're checking is, if(isset($_POST['submit'])) but if there's no variable name called "submit" it won't detect it.
=>Also, you are missing one closing parenthesis here " if(isset($_POST['submit']){ " try correcting it to "if(isset($_POST['submit'])){".

My major is Computer Information System. The class that I am taking about web development. Q: Tell us about yourself (major, interests, what you hope to learn from this class, and how this will help your career choice). To make things interesting consider including (without naming course or instructor), the best/worst course you ever had and why.
This is for a Unix class.

I am attaching a skeletal code of the program below, it just
needs ti be filled in.
Below is a skeletal code of the program. Fork a child process and then use the
parent for reading and the child for writing. This is
just a way of sending and receiving messages
