Politics -administration dichotomy is the strategy for effective administration. Politicians would determine policy and administrators would carry them out.

The dichotomy was advocated that the division of labour and authority increases democratic accountability and planning ability. Having them distinct will increase efficiency and effectiveness.

The other group who thinks, that they should not be separated, maintain that their should be interconnection between politics and administration.

For me, both of them should have an interconnection for better functioning. They should be distinct but with interconnection and interdependency.

Real life Example would be the Country India, where politics and administration are separate, yet there is an interconnection. Political elected leaders form policies and appointed administrators would implement them.
