Answer the following questions related to burst time prediction.

A. Discuss why it is important to know the length of the next job or CPU burst and which scheduling algorithm requires future knowledge.

B. Estimate the burst times under the following conditions:

Tau = 12       Alpha=.25

Actual observed burst times are: 10, 15, 13, 10

C. Estimate the burst times under the following conditions:

Tau = 12       Alpha=.75

Actual observed burst times are: 10, 15, 13, 10

Answer #1

d) i think alpha is constant and doesnt rellates to burst time .as we can see in above examples also with increase in alpha value some times the next burst time increses and some time it decreses .

    This assignment requires you to create simulations for different scheduling algorithms commonly employed by operating systems to achieve multiprogramming. All problems in this assignment assume the following: The simulations you will be creating are for a uniprocessor system (single CPU). Processes in these simulations will require CPU bursts of one or more time units followed by I/O bursts of one or more time units. For simplicity’s sake, when more than one process is executing its I/O burst at the same...

    Please answer the following question in C++ language. Thank you. Please answer all the parts. The following processes are being scheduled using a preemptive, round robin scheduling algorithm. Each process is assigned a numerical priority, with a higher number indicating a higher relative priority. In addition to the processes listed below, the system also has an idle task (which consumes no CPU resources and is identified as I ). This task has priority 0 and is scheduled whenever the system...
