Chapters

The mission statement passes the “person on a bus” test. The Mission statement of Chapters is focusing on people who are book lovers. Their goal is to make the most inspiring online environment. Their mission statement clearly states the purpose they serve and the products they offer. They focus on providing books online for book lovers which are their target segment. The company is focused on enhancing the book-reading environment for book lovers and adapting their offerings to match the requirements of the modern world. This statement highlights that it’s a website that offers booklovers quality products and services online.

National Library of Canada

The mission statement of the National Library of Canada does not meet the “person on a bus”. They are not clearly stating their purpose and the products they offer. The mission statement is not accurately depicting their product, which is creating the resources for the Canadians to know their heritage. Canadian universities and students have the option to submit ETD (Etheses and dissertations) to a national database. They create world-class national resources for Canadians to understand their rich heritage. They also make documentaries and make them accessible to Canadian citizens. Their activity doesn’t come through accurately through its mission statement.

Green Peace

This is the mission statement of Green Peace. The statement does meet the “person on a bus”. The mission of the international organization is focused on ways to promote climate justice. They are involved in saving million of species facing extinction. They tackle issues like overconsumption, systematic oppression and climatic disruption, which threaten the world. Their mission statement is highlighting the issues they focus on and promote. Their mission statement states use non-violent and creative ways to expose global environmental problems which is a direct statement and very easily understood by average individuals. Their mission statement is precise and focused. It reflects their core values which are to save the environment non violently and to create awareness among the people of the issues impacting the environment.
