Here, the HRM department can use different sources of innovation that can be disruptive and or open. Disruptive innovation is the internally developed, based on past experience and future predictions, to help achieve higher degree of efficiency at work. It is the result of internal R&D work that provides new ways to work and get results. For example, an organization working upon new payroll application that also gives the trend about employees availability as well as organizational demand over a different periods of the year, then it is bit complicated, but more superior to the existing traditional payroll system. While doing so, in other areas of HRM, such as performance management, the organization can utilize the technologies already available in the open space. It is the example of open innovation where the organization is utilizing the technological products already available in the market. Here, organization has to take care that disruptive innovation should be able to provide competitive advantage in the business place. It maximizes the benefits of the disruptive innovation.
