Project Overview is a brief and comprehensive document which is used to familiarize the customers or the stakeholders with the project. Project Overview helps visualize the complex project requirements and data in a simplified manner. It helps view and understand the key activity details and also compare different information.
In order to deliver a compelling story of the project to the customer, there are a few steps which needs to be followed:
-> Identify the need or the problem: It is very necessary to explain the reason for embarking on the project. Explain the current circumstances and the issues which are being faced by the customer. Explain how the need is currently unfulfilled and the scope of the project.
-> Explain the Solution: Once the customer acknowledges the problem, explain the solution which you are offering to the customer. Explain briefly how the solution (project) works and the key benefits which the solution (project) offers. Explain the key aspects and also how the solution (project) differentiates from the other available solutions existing in the market. Talk briefly about the methods which are being used to deliver the solution (project) and also the major milestones involved and the key measures taken to achieve it.
-> Results: Talk about the results which would be achieved through this project. Also mention the timelines of the project and how the customers can benefit from the project and how its an improvement over the current situation.
